Import Driven or Export Driven?
The thirteen clonies economy was export driven compared to Britain's which was import driven. Britain's economy was mainly imported because they didn't have the proper fertile land to grow agricultural goods such as tobacco, rice, cotton, and indigo. But it did have factories that was formed from the Industrial Revolution to produce manufactured goods such as leather and textiles. Since the thirteen colonies had more fertile land and they were able to grow a large amounts of agricultural goods they exported alot of them to Britain and other countries troughout Europe due to the high demand of these goods. Britain would import these agricultural goods and in return would export their manufactured goods such as leather and textiles, but they didn't come in abundance like the agricultural goods exported to Britain from the thirteen colonies.
